The new menu at The Ragtrader takes inspiration from the rich cultural exchange facilitated by the Silk Trade Route, blending flavors, techniques, and ingredients from East and West. This ancient network of trade not only transported silk but also spices, herbs, and culinary traditions that shaped modern gastronomy. From the fragrant spices of the Middle East to the umami-rich ingredients of Asia, the menu celebrates the fusion of these diverse influences, offering dishes that evoke the spirit of cross-cultural exploration. From the Seared Scallops prepared with apple cider gastrique to the Roast ½ Chicken in a curried tomato sauce and the Market Fish in a miso glaze and served with bok choy, shaved brussels and whole grain “fried rice”, the new menu is a cultural amalgamation that is surely not to be missed.
